Responsibilities and tasks
WorkShop is now looking for an Art Director for our creative team! In this role, you will be a swiss army knife of creatives being able to concept, design, strategize and sell your ideas to clients. You will need a competitive combination of technical knowledge, skill, education, and field experience to earn this title. In this position, you will help lead and drive presentations including building the overall flow, story, and red thread.
You must think in a strong strategic manner with the market and target in mind. You will be a master at presenting to clients and building client and team relationships. We also need you to take on and help lead and support new business pitches. You have had experience or projects working with retail & or shopper marketing. You will join a small and strong tight-knit team that believes in producing high level and strategic work without producing big egos.

As an Art Director, you’ll be responsible for the execution and on-time delivery of high-quality creative materials and ideas. Most likely, you will have one or more designers or team members reporting to you on an assignment. You will interact with executives and management from your organization and its client companies. Your focus will be on high-quality creative delivery and strategic planning, as well as the day-to-day operations of your department. You will work with and report directly to the Creative Director.
- Manage the team that is working on a project.
- Lead projects from kickoff, to concept, to final production.
- Must be able to confidently present a project to clients.
- Meet new business clients and present WorkShop as a brand.
- Must build and keep good client relationships.
- Generate clear ideas and concepts with or without a copywriter.
- Produce sketches, storyboards, roughs to visualize ideas.
- Work with project managers in developing time estimates for projects.
Qualifications
- You have had experience or projects working with retail & or shopper marketing.
- Fluent in Swedish & English.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Art Director.
- Must demonstrate strong management capabilities.
- Must be able to confidently present a project to clients.
- Understand full processes involved in the creation process to production.
- Hands on experience with brand & digital design, film creation, print production and image selection.
- Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio for both print & digital.
- Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well.
- Team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Relevant education or training.
- Bonus if you know some 3D, Sketchup or motion.
