Responsibilities and tasks
We are looking for a Packaging & Technical Development Manager that will be IDEAL OF SWEDENs expert when it comes to the development of new plastic injected products and paper packaging, from the first thoughts through to commercial roll-out.
You will be responsible for ensuring that IDEAL OF SWEDEN develops products that are functional, cost effective, with a high level of quality and design.
Innovation – Pro actively seek and develop new appropriate formats or processes that add value, including, but not limited to proposing to the business new ways to ensure Ideal of Sweden plastic and paper products become more sustainable.Market
Knowledge – Have an expert knowledge of Paper and Plastic materials, printing techniques, suppliers and processes globally, to support the development of new formats.
Technical Expertise – To be recognised both internally and externally as a Technical expert. To engage with external bodies as appropriate to ensure product innovation meets all relevant legislation.
Supply Base – Cooperate and challenge the supplier base to deliver innovation and high quality.
Packaging Design and Final Art Process – to continuously improve the packaging design and final art process at Ideal of Sweden to ensure the process runs smoothly and effectively and that mistakes are minimized.
Leadership – manage and develop a team of 1-2 packaging & final art designers, allocating the work between the team members and removing obstacles for the creation of final artworks.
Qualifications
- You have a degree, most likely in Packaging and/or Chemistry.
- You have good knowledge and experience of working with different materials within plastic injection and paper.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, are important as you’ll be working as part of a team, and you’ll have a lot of contact with materials suppliers as well.
- You enjoy leading creators and creative processes.
- You enjoy establishing and improving processes.
- You are technically minded, and detail orientated.
